As a primary teacher with many years kindergarten experience (and mom of 3) I come to the whole "Back to School" retail season a bit, well....seasoned. When I see conventional retailers listing alllllllll the things your kids “need” to be ready for school, I want to shout “Wait! Cut that list in half! In quarters!”

What’s the takeaway, for laundry day? Take your family’s PJ pants and basketball shorts out of the dryer. Your towels, jeans and other cottons don't play well with polyester.
Why do our boys and "softness" part ways, culturally? I think this warrants a fresh look -- not just a fresh look at wardrobes, but at masculinity too.
